CON FORMS LAUNCHES NEW CONCRETE PLACER

Con Forms has expanded the Spider Placer Product Line with the new 22Z Spider Crawler Placer that provides the longest possible boom for a crawler spider. This new product allows for maximum versatility and functionality — placing concrete further and covering more area per setup than ever before.

Reaching an impressive 24.5 meters vertical, 22 meters horizontal and 15.5 meters below ground, the 22Z Spider is highly mobile and can be an effective mobile extension for long reach boom trucks. “The 22Z was designed for our customers who want a maximum extended-length boom, coupled with superb mobility in a rugged and reliable package,” said Jim Bury, director of placing equipment and support services at Con Forms. “This self-propelled mobile placer is designed to get itself into tight spots on congested jobsites for maximum concrete placement coverage.”

Con Form’s new Spider placer acts as both a stationary placing boom and a mobile crawler for tunnels and bridges. The ability for crane-lifting of the entire unit is built in to seamlessly place the Spider below or above ground. An operator can easily move the Spider by jumping in the driver’s seat or controlling the tracks by radio remote. The industry-leading 74 HP diesel engine and 12-inch ground clearance allows for self-loading onto transport trailers as well as climbing 25-degree (46 grade) hills.

The 22Z Spider comes equipped with Con Form’s Guardian boom piping system, which is an induction hardened single-wall pipe that utilizes chrome carbide-lined weld ends for added life. That is paired with cast manganese elbows for a system that lasts longer than competitive Spider systems. For demanding applications, Con Form’s upgraded pipelines are available.

Features such as a heavy-duty and efficient power package, solid steel base, high-strength boom and double-ball slewing ring give this unit amazing power to withstand the daily punishment of concrete pumping placement in harsh environments. Safety factors are in place, such as solid foot weldments for good support and high-powered hydraulic cylinders that provide the tremendous power needed for unwavering stability and safety when the boom is loaded and operational.

“We are extremely proud of this new product extension to our market-leading 16-meter and 18-meter product portfolio. It is an excellent addition to any pumping fleet in today’s labor-constrained market,” said Dave Stahlman, general manager of Con Forms. “It has been designed to handle the most rugged and versatile job site conditions with the real-world operator in mind.”
