Your first act of teamwork starts now
🔀 How to Form Teams
Teams are cross-functional and cross-business — mixing veteran CFI staff with newer BU members. How you group up is the first act of the game.
📏 Formation Rules
1
No same-business clustering — each team must have members from at least 2 different CFI business units.

One tenured CFI anchor — each team includes at least one person who has been with CFI 3+ years.

Self-organized, 60 seconds — teams organize themselves at the starting line before the ride. Scrambling IS the icebreaker.
🏷️ Team Identity
Each team gets a colored wristband and names themselves — inspired by Chicago, CFI, or wherever the moment takes you. You'll carry this identity through all four stops.

⚡ How It Works
20 minutes per stop. One person keeps time, one captures ideas, one presents. All four stops build toward a 2-minute pitch at the finish line — that pitch becomes CFI's first culture experiment to pilot in Q3.

Bobby's Bike Hike HQ → Navy Pier → Museum Campus → Northerly Island
📍 Where We Are
We start at Bobby's Bike Hike in Streeterville and head onto the lakefront. Past Navy Pier and south to Museum Campus — home to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium. We continue to Northerly Island: a quiet peninsula with skyline views and no crowds. This is where we set the tone.

12th Street Beach & Millennium Park
12th St Beach → Cloud Gate → Crown Fountain → Buckingham Fountain
📍 Where We Are
We pull up at 12th Street Beach — best skyline viewpoint in the city. From there, into Millennium Park: Cloud Gate, the Crown Fountain, and Buckingham Fountain. Built in 1927, once the largest fountain in the world. The center of Chicago — a reminder of what it looks like to build something that lasts.

📍 Where We Are
We leave Millennium Park on Chicago's protected bike lane network — the Chicago Theatre marquee, Marina City's twin towers, the Gold Coast — arriving at North Avenue Beach. Chicago's most popular beach. A completely different view of the skyline than where we started. A good moment to take stock of how far we've come.

Integration
Final Stretch — Lakefront Trail
Navy Pier → Chicago Riverwalk → Lakefront Trail → Back to HQ
📍 Where We Are
We circle back past Navy Pier and along the Riverwalk before hitting the Lakefront Trail for the final stretch to HQ. Nine miles in. Skyline behind us, Lake Michigan to the right. This is the integration stop — not just of the route, but of everything we've built today. What we commit to here is what we take back to the business.

Winning team gets recognition — and their idea becomes CFI's first culture experiment to test in Q3.
The game ends with a commitment — each person names one thing they'll do in the next 30 days to carry the culture forward.
