We are proud to support mining operations across many functions. Find out how we can best support you on-site.

Bulk materials are stored in silos and transported underground for processing using hydraulic or pneumatic pumps, which operate at up to 2 bar (30 psi). The pipeline, typically DN 80 or DN 100, can reach lengths of 50 meters, with larger sizes requiring auxiliary systems. Coupling connections are increasingly used for faster assembly and easier servicing, allowing quick disconnection and reconnection when needed.

Some pipelines are used in vertical mining shaft applications. They can be free-hanging or secured to a shaft wall with brackets. Thermal expansion, static load calculations, diameter reducers, transition pipes and elbows are a few of the many considerations in vertical shaft mining pipe systems. ESSER employs a team of experienced engineers to assist with the conception, design, manufacture and installation of these complex systems.

Tailings and overburden are often transported back underground from surface storage. These abrasive materials are mixed with water and binding agents such as cement, lime, or fly ash underground and used to stabilize shafts, drifts, and voids created during mining. To create the shortest possible connection from the surface to the underground, pipes are laid through boreholes. Pipe connections must therefore be stable and quick to install, while at the same time being slim and space-saving. A combination of ESSER TWIN 700 and the ZSM connection system from Carl Hamm was developed to provide a stable and space-saving solution that also ensures high wear resistance and is therefore designed for long-term operation.

Tailings or construction materials (concrete) are often transported underground for kilometers. High-density solids pumps with high working pressures are used in this application. ESSER high-pressure pipes with multiple degrees of hardness are used in these systems. Neuralgic points can be reinforced (elbows and elbow outlet pipes). They are connected via pipe couplings and designed for working pressures up to 200 bar.

Surface mining requires long-lasting dragline and shovel components when excavating and loading large quantities of materials. Tricon offers a variety of the longest-lasting wear parts to keep you running. Our products include dragline bucket liners, lips and shrouds, pins, shovel liner kits, Dutchmen, heel bands, and wire for joining, hardfacing, and build-up.

Excavating raw materials and moving them around a mining site is extremely abrasive to your equipment. Tricon provides the highest-quality, longest-lasting mobile equipment components to keep you running longer. Our wear solutions include haul truck beds, haul truck liners, loader buckets, loader bucket liners, dozer blades, dozer liners, dozer outside liner packages, skip cars or mine shaft skips, haul road grader blades, and wire for joining, hardfacing, and build-up.

When mines reduce ore size, they are essentially reducing haulage costs and related energy consumption. To retain these efficiencies, mines need top-of-the-line, wear-resistant crush and convey components to effectively keep operations running longer. Tricon offers the longest-lasting hammers, cheek plates, conveying systems, conveyor pans, skirtboard liners, deflector plates, idler rolls, head drums, tail drums, hoppers, hopper liners, crusher in-feed liners, crusher out-feed liners, and wire for joining, hardfacing, and build-up.

Screening and sizing within the mining process is all about producing consistent, quality product for increased profitability. Tricon offers screening and sizing wear solutions that last longer than any other products on the market, so you can turn more profit with less downtime. Our screening and sizing equipment includes grizzly bars, secondary screening components like pre-wet screen top decks and scalping screen, rotary screens, truck dump screens, grouser bars, and wire for joining, hardfacing, and build-up.

Without the proper wear-resistant materials, a ball mill’s grinding action will reduce its effectiveness, resulting in lower profitability. Tricon offers abrasion-resistant ball mill components that will keep operations running longer with less downtime. Our long-lasting ball mill components include drying chamber liners, ball mill feed tubes, ball mill grates, trunnion liners, wear plates, and wire for joining, hardfacing, and build-up.
