The transition area where the logs are fed from the power feed chain deck into the debarking drum sustains frequent high-impact; which resulted in cracking and breaking of the steel bars and plating. Logs would become lodged in the voided space, creating significant work stoppages and downtime. Clearing the jams required heavy equipment and the expense of unscheduled maintenance.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ce66424 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ce66424\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ob_postman_use&quot;:&quot;no&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>SOLUTION<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-54882f8 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"54882f8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ob_postman_use&quot;:&quot;no&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>On a scheduled down-day, Paul called in Tricon\u2019s Drew Dobbins to measure the space and formulate a plan to address this problem. The solution was a fabricated \u201cTransition Plate\u201d in which the <a href=\"\/de\/tri-braze\/\">Tri-Braze\u00ae<\/a> bars from the power feed deck were welded solid into the main Tri-Braze\u00ae transition plate with A514 structural steel welded vertically.<\/p><p>The result has been zero down-time, saving I.P. thousands of dollars. Another benefit was reducing the exposure of employees tasked with clearing the jams in a very hazardous area. This transition plate has been in service for almost two years and still running strong.
